Welcome to the Department of Finance and Insurance

The Department of Finance and Insurance was inaugurated in 2003, with 150 students on first entry. The Department is located on the Aghios Nikolaos site of the TEI of Crete and belongs to the School of Management and Economics.

This is a department unique in its object of study as it combines both the theoretical and the practical side of Finance and Insurance, thus corresponding to the needs of the Greek and global job market. The banking and insurance industry has shown an exceptional growth over the past few years, with larger structural changes yet to come. Inevitably, intense competition in these sectors will increase the need for highly skilled and specialised executives with a Higher Education degree. Therefore, the quick absorption of this department's graduates is near ensured.
